Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
Through 5–12 mm incisions, we can perform complex procedures with minimal pain, fast recovery, and cosmetic results superior to open surgery. Dr. Alin Constantin has extensive experience in advanced gynecologic laparoscopy.
Gynecologic laparoscopy: maximum precision, minimum discomfort
Minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery uses a video camera and slim surgical instruments introduced through small incisions in the abdomen. The surgeon monitors and controls the procedure on an HD screen, with better visualization than in classic open surgery.
This technique is now the gold standard in gynecology, allowing complex procedures to be performed with excellent results and minimal impact on the patient's body.
Advantages of laparoscopy
- Minimal incisions — 3–4 incisions of 5–12 mm, nearly invisible scars
- Reduced postoperative pain — significantly less discomfort than open surgery
- Fast recovery — return to normal activities in 1–2 weeks
- Short hospital stay — often same-day or next-day discharge
- Superior visualization — HD/4K cameras deliver clearer images than direct view
- Lower risk of infection — minimal exposure of the abdominal cavity
- Cosmetic results — no large visible scar

Frequently asked questions
-
In the hands of an experienced surgeon, laparoscopy delivers the same success rates as open surgery, with clear advantages in recovery, postoperative pain, and risk of complications. HD monitor visualization often allows better identification of anatomic structures.
-
In most cases, yes. Prior surgeries can create adhesions that make the procedure more difficult, but an experienced surgeon can manage these situations with adapted techniques. Dr. Alin Constantin will evaluate each case individually.
-
Recovery varies with the type and complexity of the procedure. In general, most patients can return to light activities in 3–7 days and to full activity in 1–3 weeks. Robotic surgery (an advanced form of minimally invasive surgery) can offer an even faster recovery in some cases.
